At Demiurgo Studio, we believe that leather is a living material, capable of telling a story through its surface. With our new summer Ballet Flats, we wanted to push this narrative beyond traditional boundaries, exploring a finish with a bold, distinctive character: the crackle (or craquelé) effect.

This is not a simple print, but a complex tanning technique rooted in our three-generation family heritage. Our goal? To transform a classic shoe into an avant-garde, tactile object of design.

How the Craquelé Effect is Born

The foundation of this process begins with premium, ultra-soft goatskin, deep-dyed in a warm brown hue. A white pigmented finish is then applied to the surface.

Through a meticulously calibrated mechanical and thermal process within the drums, the white surface layer is intentionally "cracked," revealing the dark soul of the leather beneath.

The result is a three-dimensional texture, visually reminiscent of an ancient canvas or sun-scorched earth. The magic of this 100% Made in Italy craftsmanship lies in its organic nature: no two pairs of Demiurgo flats will ever share the same identical pattern. Every shoe is a unique piece.

Compromise-Free Lightness and Comfort

Complex tactile treatments often risk stiffening the leather. On the contrary, thanks to our tanning expertise, the goatskin retains its natural elasticity.
